The evening began with cocktail service where attendees were invited to sip on a glass of wine and relax while meeting new friends, catching up with old ones and taking in the displays of the best of Austin’s professional communicators. This year featured an open bar and an incredible sampling of delicious hors d’oeuvres from 2Dine4 Catering.

Later that evening, the festivities moved to the gorgeous Whisenhunt Arena for a behind-the-scenes look at how one of Austin’s most successful communicators has raised more than $27 million for organizations. Our special guest speaker, Ken Stein, brought down the house with his humorous, highly entertaining and truly insightful look at what it takes to successfully target the right audience with the right message. As executive director of the Paramount and State Theatres, Ken is responsible for business communication to the media, donors, patrons and stakeholders.

Finally, Ken Stein and IABC/Austin President Jennifer Herber helped recognize our Bronze Quill Award winners during an incredible ceremony that highlighted why Austin is such a communcations powerhouse.
